In total, the number of cases of theft crime rose by 2409 to 7221 cases, which corresponds to an increase in the number of cases of 50.06%. At 22.55%, the clearance rate in the area of theft crime is roughly the same as the previous year.

Other types of fraud against older people (in particular telephone fraud in the form of grandchild scams, false police officers, promises of winnings, bail payments for fatal traffic accidents) account for a large part of the increase (+ 57 cases).
In this crime complex, the number of reported offenses rose by 70 cases (+ 20.47%).
This includes the sexual abuse of children, which recorded a significant increase of 34 cases (+ 64.15%). This is mainly due to the fact that the discovery of a crime usually leads to a large number of other crimes in this area being reported to the police.
Reported cases of sexual assault and sexual coercion increased by 6 crimes (+ 27.27%).
The number of rapes fell to 39 cases (- 4 cases or - 9.30%). Of these, 95% were rapes within a domestic community.
The change and further interpretation of §177 StGB must be taken into account in these figures. According to this, it is no longer only the person who forces sexual acts through violence, the threat of violence or the exploitation of a vulnerable situation of the victim who is liable to prosecution, but also the person who overrides the "recognizable will" of the victim. In the area of sexual assault in particular, an increase in the number of cases was to be expected with a certain delay to the change in the law.
The area of street crime includes all offenses that take place in public spaces and therefore have a direct impact on the population's sense of security.
With 4891 registered offenses, street crime rose by 1272 cases (+35.15%) to its highest level since 2015. Despite the significant increase in the number of offenses, the AQ was once again improved by 0.78 percentage points.
Within street crime, robbery and assault offenses increased significantly. Robbery offenses increased by 41 cases (+ 44.57%), assault offenses by 321 cases (+ 20.60%).
Threats also increased by 141 offenses (+39.5%), while coercion was reported to the police much less frequently (-19.72%).
It should be noted that the criminal offense of "threats" was expanded in 2021, which was expected to lead to an increase in offenses in this area.
The proportion of suspects aged eight to under 21 in the total number of suspects rose slightly to 21.43% (+2.32%). This age group was involved in 1788 offenses, which represents a significant increase of 45.29% (+538 offenses). With this increase, the figures have almost reached the level of 2019 (1831 crimes) again.
