Heinsberg - A damaged window pane and a burning garbage can are currently keeping the criminal investigation department busy.
Around 10.30 p.m. on Monday evening (August 11), three previously unknown young men threw an unknown object at a window on the second floor of an apartment building on Rheinertstraße and damaged it. The perpetrators were around 15 to 18 years old, around 185 centimetres tall and wore black outerwear.
At shortly after 11 p.m., a large paper garbage can was on fire in Klevchen Street, standing in the driveway of a residential building below a window. The flames damaged the window frame and the roller shutter and were extinguished by the fire department.
The investigating officers are now looking into whether the two crimes are connected. The police are also looking for witnesses who may have made observations during the specified period that could be connected to the facts.
